Dear Voters: 

My name is Carl Rollins of Midway, Kentucky and I am running for State Representative in the 56th District.  The district includes all of Woodford County, the northeastern part of Franklin County and the western part of Fayette County.

I believe that my 18 years of experience as an elected official combined with my experience in education and business has prepared me to serve as your representative.  Having served in local government as a mayor, councilman, and magistrate has taught me the importance of economic development and jobs.  I have also learned that the best government is an open and responsive government.

My 17 years of experience in education at both the K-12 levels and in higher education have instilled a strong appreciation for the important role education plays in building a solid future for Kentucky.  We must offer every opportunity to our citizens, especially our young people, to have access to a high-quality and affordable education.

With more than 10 years on the Woodford Board of Health, I fully understand the needs of our citizens to have access to adequate health care.  I also understand the need for our communities to be well prepared for any kind of disaster or health emergency.

I have been involved in many community groups and I understand what we can accomplish when we work together.  If you will make a commitment to contact me with your ideas and concerns, I will promise to be accessible and to return your calls, letters, and emails.  I want to work hard for you in Frankfort.
